Habitat houses are built almost entirely with volunteers. In fact, we only have three staff members in construction, so just imagine how many houses we would build each year without volunteers!
Some volunteers have worked with Habitat for years building houses and some are new to Habitat. Many of our volunteers have never done any construction work before.
If you volunteer at a Habitat Build site you may find yourself putting up siding or shingling a roof, installing windows or painting foundations, or maybe doing landscaping on the last day. You will be instructed by Habitat staff or experienced volunteers who serve as crew chiefs. Just imaging the thrill of helping build a house in eight working days!
