AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a national service organization which includes a State / National program and an AmeriCorps Vista Program.

AmeriCorps members of the State / National program serve individually and in teams to address problems in communities by providing direct service such as building homes and supporting homeowners.  Our two AmeriCorps members at CSC Habitat, Erin and Amy, work closely with our construction staff helping to build Habitat homes and on other projects.

AmeriCorps members typically serve a term of 11 months and complete at least 1700 hours of service.  Members may serve up to 2 years.

AmeriCorps Vista volunteers address poverty issues by providing "capacity building" services such as board development and fundraising.

AmeriCorps members recieve an Education Award of $4,725, a Living Allowance, Loan Forbearance, Health Benefits and Child Care.
